Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (UMY) International Class Double Degree Student, Hangga Fathana starts his Double Degree Program in Flinders University Adelaide Australia in this July 2008. After finishing 3 semesters in Flinders, Hangga will possess Bachelor of International Studies (BIS) from Flinders University as well as Sarjana Ilmu Politik (S.IP.) from UMY. During his semester in Flinders, Hangga will also have an opportunity to do internships in Flinders International Office and take foreign language courses in the University of Adelaide Australia. Last semester in Flinders will be used for completing the UMY thesis to be examined upon his return to UMY.
The Double Degree Program was initiated by International Class, Department of International Relations, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences University Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta with Department of International Relations Flinders University in 2006. Double Degree Students will spend 4 semesters in UMY and 3 semester in Flinders and will possess Double Degree from Flinders (BIS) as well as from UMY (S.IP.).
As part the agreement, Flinders University sends their lecturers to teach as Visiting Professors in International Class UMY each year. International Class UMY welcomes all new students to join the globally-minded team to be part of the competitive global community.
